Scary stuff

Even though Irene didn't cause as much damage as expected it was still a lot of things happening in Woods Hole - trees that had fallen, flooding and electricity cuts. But what was even worse was what I was told this morning. I received an email from our landlady telling me that the next door neighbors house had exploded (!), burnt down and is no more. While being without electricity they had lit a propane heater and when the electricity returned the gas somehow ignited and exploded. Luckily the people in the house was over at some other neighbor's house for dinner so nobody got injured.

We were talking to one of the neighbors just a couple of hours before we left and she told us that they had decided to stay since they were supposed to stay for another week and by then eventual damage would have been fixed. And they had a good basement that they would be safe in... Now it looks like they will be staying in "our" house until they can return home. HERE you can read more and see pictures.
